"Working with Sawyer as a personal trainer was one of the best experiences with fitness and weightlifting I have ever had. I had never been someone to consider weightlifting or really focusing on any non-aerobic exercise and was turned off by some of the (typically inaccurate) stereotypes that come with those fitness activities. After our first meeting, Sawyer had already helped to change my perspective and help me understand why this full rounded training approach could help me with my fitness goals. When working with Sawyer, it is very clear that he is extremely passionate about what he does. He is incredibly knowledgeable about both fitness training and nutrition and I always felt comfortable asking him any questions or for help with anything. If I was confused about certain exercises or lifts, he would often send me personal videos of the right and wrong ways to perform that specific exercise. Sawyer is always encouraging and motivating and I never felt like just another client of his. From my experience in looking for trainers, he is also one of the few specialized personal trainers that can help you focus on a vegan diet. "I have been working with coach Sawyer since in November 2021. I had initially planned for a 90 kickstart program but when that ended, I realized that I had so much more to learn from him and decided to keep going!Over the past 9 months I have accomplished so much and learned many important lessons about what goes into developing results-oriented fitness/nutrition habits.
A major struggle for me was the technicality of lifting - and I was surprised by how much attention that requires. Sawyer was meticulous with his form reviews. While I wasn’t always happy to hear it wasn’t perfect, I’m glad that I now know to always establish a mind-muscle connection with every exercise. Sawyer also helped me implement a successful meal plan that I was motivated to stick with, and adjust to eating more food than I was used to. After that, I learned how to focus on tracking my macros accurately, which gave me so much more flexibility with my food choices. I also learned that tracking progress (such as weight, measurements, taking progress pictures) was extremely powerful in adjusting and optimizing my plan throughout the process - there is nothing more powerful than data!
Finally, what I appreciated most about working with Sawyer, was that while progress can be slow, it has never ever felt stagnant. We are constantly problem-solving, brainstorming, and reconfiguring things as it relates to my diet, exercise program, progress and motivation. Gone are the days where I slaved away at the gym, hoping to eventually see some change. When your body finally does go through changes, it can often be quite scary, especially since gaining muscle also involves gaining fat (which is extremely challenging when you’re so impatient to get lean). Through this process, it was a relief to have Sawyer guide me through by constantly reviewing my metrics to ensure I was on track. 
Sawyer is an experienced coach and I would always recommend him highly!"
